East and west tiles in position. The majority of the east and west granite tiles have been positioned. The job was delayed at this stage for a few days because of bad weather; rain and even some snow.

Sweeping in the sand. Work resumes!

During the process of laying the pavers and placing the rails they were set into position by using a vibrating compactor. They were then locked into place by sweeping sand into all the cracks.

This photo shows the prepared sand base and the rails set in place at the north end of the dial.

The north end of the dial.

The last granite tile! Here we are ready to place the last piece of granite. This was a really heavy one!

This is the piece that fills the space between the two rails at noon which form the noon gap.
