Kathy Long and
Sheldon Sveinson are very excited to participate
in the creation of this landmark piece. Both of these
talented artists live in the region, and work out
of Flying Pigment Design Studio in Lac du Bonnet.
Kathy's
works in watercolors, acrylics, oils and clay
focus on the landscape and the hope, beauty and
peace found therein. Her art can be found in
major collections across North America, including
Investors Syndicate, Richardson Greenshield, the
Calgary Stock Exchange, and many others.
Sheldon
works in pen and ink, watercolors and acrylics.
His photorealistic pieces highlight the myriad of
textures in nature. Sheldon enjoys working on a
grand scale, as evident in his large, colorful
outdoor murals.
Sheldon
is co-owner of Flying Pigment Design Studio, a
full service graphic design company based in Lac
du Bonnet. FPDS produces a wide range of work -
fron annual reports, speaker support materials
and brochures, to complete corporate identity
packages, including hand carved site signage and
hewn log information kiosks.
Alicia
Clark is the other half of the Flying Pigment
Design studio partnership. Originally from
Bisset, she worked as a professional designer in
Winnipeg for many years before making her home in
Lac du Bonnet. Alicia has played an important
part in co-ordinating the production of the
sundial. Completely at home with high end
computer graghics and design, Alicia dearly loves
to escape for a day of painting and canoeing in
our beautiful whiteshell wilderness.
Through
FPDS Sheldon, Alicia and Kathy organized and
produced a highly successful guide to regional
artisits' studios, which has become a much
anticipated annual publication.
As
well as being a graphic design studio, Flying
Pigment is also home to an antique shop and an
art gallery featuring regional work.
